The Weather Channel Hub for Omnimo 5 (Rainmeter) by wifun2012 The Weather Channel Hub for Omnimo 5 (Rainmeter) by wifun2012
Here's a new skin for Omnimo 5 (Rainmeter). You'll say : "You have Windows 8". No, I'm Windows 7 and I made for Omnimo 5 a skin which looks like the Bing Weather App on Windows 8, without the Hourly forecast, graphs and maps and using weather.com data.

Here's the first version (V.1) of The Weather Channel Hub for Omnimo 5.

DETAILS OF THE SKIN :
• Replaces the old weather hub by a new hub which looks like the Bing Weather app (Windows 8) without hourly forecast and maps, with the weather data from The Weather Channel (weather.com)
• Shows the current weather and the forecast for the 4 next days, and is updated every 10 minutes (or by clicking right "Refresh Skin")
• 2 modes : fullscreen (weather.ini) and column (weather-mini.ini), available by clicking on the arrow at the top of the widget
• The column widget can be moved at left or at right of your screen like on Windows 8
• The background of the widget shows the current weather, so it changes when the weather changes.

The ZIP file contains :
- the Rainmeter skin file : The_Weather_Channel_Hub_v1.0 by_andewil.rmskin
- the previews of the skin
- a README.txt to do the steps and so use TWC hub
- the picture used in this deviation called "The Weather Channel Hub Preview".

TO INSTALL IT, READ FIRST THE README.TXT, FOLLOW THE STEPS AND SO THE SKIN WILL WORK.

REQUIREMENTS :
- Rainmeter 2.5 or higher installed
- Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8
- Omnimo 5.0 installed in Rainmeter

Hope you like it ! Don't forget to share it to your freinds and in your social network accounts !

And if you can make me a donation, please do one, it will be great !

Note : there will be a 2nd version later. I'll keep you updated !

As I looked at it more closely, it appears the problem is in the [MeterTemp1] function. It looks like it calls out the wrong MeasureWeatherTemp functions. The way it is currently set up, the current day highs and lows are a mixture of the day2 high and day1 low. That is how the function is written and how it is displaying on my screen. Based on the RegExp string, I'm not sure if there is enough data to give a current day high and low.

As a matter of fact, the original Omnimo 5 weather hub gave similar data, but the days were off by one. What it displays for the weather forecast for Wednesday is actually Thursday, etc.

I hope this helps. I look forward to the next version.

I've seen in the String Index for the Weather.com RSS Feed what there is, and yeah, no Low and High Temperature for the current day. Just current temperature and feels like. I need now a RSS feed which can give me these 2 missing temperatures for the current day and it'll be better.
You say that weather forecast of a day is actually w.f. for the next day ? I'm not sure, i've checked it in Weather.com for my city by example, and w.f. for next day and the 3 nexts are the same as it displays in the widget, with 1° or 2° of difference, it depends of when you update the widget.

Weather.com RSS Feed doesn't go further than 4 days (= we're wednesday so there's no data for next monday). I need so a better weather rss feed with more more data in the String Index. But where to find it, i've no idea ...

I may have been confusing. Your weather hub gives the correct forecast for the correct day (except for current day). The weather hub that comes with Omnimo 5 has the wrong forecast. For example, today it says it will be 80F, when in fact it is tomorrow that will be 80F (today will only get to 67F). For tomorrow it says the high will be 69F, which is actually the high forecast for Friday. I haven't look at the .ini file but I'm sure it is a relatively simple fix which I would play with, but I like yours better anyway.

Again that is NOT a problem for your .ini, it is the standard one that comes with Omnimo.

As a fix for yours, I have just made today read the current temp with the word "current" after it.

Great skin but the temperature for the current day is incorrect. In my area today the high was 58F and the low tonight will be 39F (according to weather.com). The skin is showing 78F/52F/. The next 4 days coincide perfectly for the forecast from weather.com. It just appears to be the current day. Any ideas?

Maybe a little error in the formulas for Fahrenheit (cause °C and °F are calculated differently). For temperatures in Celsius it works for me, i've checked with other cities and in weather.com and it works (with sometimes a difference of 1, 2 or 3 degrees). So I must check data for Fahrenheit and edit it. It'll be ameliorated in the 2nd version (planned for June) :) Thanks for noting this error buddy. :)

Non.
